It started with a simple question:
“Why is it so easy to meet people while traveling...but so difficult in our own backyard?”
On their first brothers' trip to Mexico, Alessandro and Carlo-Alfonso, two brothers from San Antonio, Texas, found themselves effortlessly making friends — sharing tables, swapping stories, and saying yes to whatever the day brought. It felt natural. Human. Even Normalized.
But back home in New York, that openness felt rare. People were busy, isolated, insular, cautious. The spontaneity — the curiosity — was missing.
So they set out to recreate it.
Ideated in Mexico, born in Brooklyn: A dinner party for 8 strangers, handpicked off the street, with nothing but a sign that read:
"Dinner Party @ Ours?"
And Blind 8 was born.
